How can I use a button to retrieve a phone 'number' from contacts?

How can I use *67 to block my phone number on my work phone?

  • I have used *67 from home in the past to block my phone number from coming up on someone's Caller ID / Call Display. I tried it at work but we have to dial "9" before getting an outside line and it doesn't seem to work. I dial 9....but as soon as I push the * button a message says "we're sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed." Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

No. Only if the installer was in a charitable mood because *67 has to be specifically allowed in the toll restriction tables. It keeps employees from dialing *xx and beating the call screening. I can think of only one installation where we actually set up digit screening to allow LASS codes, although in most places, we don't screen for anything but IDDD.

if there is a manual way to select a line on your phone system in place of dialing 9 then do that.. select the line, then dial *67 and the phone number otherwise try forgetting about the 9 and just dial *67 then the number you want to call...

It probably will not work from a business (work) phone.. you might try to dial 9 then 1167 plus the number....Business systems usually will not accept the *67....

Rich

dial 9 before the *67 or *67 before the 9
