How can I get a particular telephone number from British Telecom with new line installation?
-
I need a new line to be installed but want it with a particular number.Had a word with BT sales and they confirmed that the number is no more a working line but is somehow blocked in the exchange hence they cannot proceed with that number,Is they any way out if I can talk to BT provisioning or SMC help Desk or Number management team to get the number spared so that I can place an order with BT sales to go ahead with the number? Thanks for all the answer!!!!

Answer:
If the number is blocked, it usually means reserved for a large (business) customer, or else temporarily "blacklisted" due to the last owner of the number receiving unpleasant calls intended for the previous owner - therefore the number is being "rested" and not given out
