What is the most expensive hotel room in Milan?

• Currently I am staying at a motel, paying by the week. When I first came here, I could call room to room, directly from my room. Now when I try to do this I get a busy signal. I called the front desk from my cell and asked why this is happening? Why cant I call room to room. I was told that there is a block on room to room calls and ALL calls MUST go through the switchboard. After speaking with a wife of an employee here, she tells me that its the manager of the hotel. The employees live here on the property and this manager doesn't want employees calling each other in their rooms with her (the manager) not knowing about it. Therefore all calls MUST go through the switchboard. So because of this, all guests must also be forced to place room to room calls, through the front desk as well. What the heck? I've never heard of such a thing before! Is this invasion of privacy? What right does anyone have to monitor who or when Im calling? Can I complain about this and if so, who do I contact? This is a motel in Phoenix, AZ. As far as I can tell, its a single motel....not a chain and has no corporate office to call. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this, I appreciate your time.

  They have the right to restrict this if they want to. They do not even have to provide the ability to call room to room. It is not an invasion of privacy. You have the ability to contact that person if you need to through the switch board. If you don't like it, you can contact a higher ranking manager, but there is nothing you can legally do. It's not against the law.
