How to send FAX from home without phone line?

  • Hello, I do not have phone line or phone service at home. I need to send a fax. I have a printer that can send a fax. Can printer send a fax without having phone line? What other alternatives do I have? - Send fax from my computer? - Send fax from online site? What is the easiest and cheapest way of sending fax from home without having a phone line? Thanks

i rarely use faxes, so when i need to send or receive a fax, i either go to staples, or some other copy center place that offers the service, and usually pay about $1 per page, or whatever they charge... you could also look into setting up an efax service, there are many providers online that offer efax where you would scan the document that you want to send, and email it as an attachment, and it is sent off as a regular fax.. these providers can also provide you with your own "fax number" that will forward incoming faxes to your email, and you can view them on your PC or print them out if you wanted to print them...

No, your printer/fax can not send a fax without a phone line. There are on-line email fax services though I have no first hand expeience with them. Just use google. http://www.google.com/search?q=email+fax+service&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1 Also, a printer that actually has fax capability also must have a scan capability. So you already have the ability it scan a hardcopy, and then use one of the above mentioned on-line fax services to "fax" it.
