What is the voltage of a landline telephone?

Landline telephone does not receive incoming calls when conected with DSL/INTERNET SPLITTER?

  • i have a DSL splitter that connects both the internet modem and telephone landline. the handset for the telephone is a cordless landline powered with electricity plugged into the DLS with the modem. this set up works fine...i can work on the internet and make/receive landline telephone calls the problem is when i have changed my telephone handset from a cordless powered appliance to the old style telephone appliance where there is no electricity and it plugs directly. its the telephone where you have the numbers 1-0 around in a circle. now....if i conect this telephone directly to the wall socket...it words fine. but when i use the splitter/dsl splitter conected with the modem...it stops receiving incomming calls. remember...it alll worked fine when i had it conected with the cordless telephone appliance that needs to be charged to work but does not work with the new appliance that does not need charged please help. thank you

  • Answer:

one of the devices on your line is causing a short on your line somewhere.. likely since it only occurs when the old rotary phone is connected, this is likely the trouble... or perhaps the filter that you are connecting to the rotary phone is defective..
