Do i need a phone line to have dsl internet?

I want to get cox high speed internet but I don't have a house phone I have no need for one I just want to know if I need it or not?

Answer:
DSL requires a phone line, but not phone service... because DSL is delivered over telephone wiring to your home (modem) COX is AFAIK only a cable company, and not a telephone company (although they should also offer phone service) you would not need phone service from them, but you would need a cable line from the street to your home (modem)

Cox is cable, so it never required a phone line. And now, the phone companies also offer dsl without dial tone. So wherever you get it from, high speed internet doesn't require a phone line.
