My friend has a cell phone and i want to send him a text with yahoo how do i do that?

On your yahoo messenger window there should be a button that looks like a cell phone, this is to send text messages. You'll be asked to enter the phone number of the person you wish to send a message to. If the receiver's phone is compatible with Yahoo's text service, it will go through. If it's not, it won't.

well, first make sure his phone can accept messages from yahoo messenger, and then on your messenger software, right click on his name in your messenger list, and go to "details", next, go to the mobile number section, and enter his phone number, with a +1 at the beginning of the number, then his area code, and then his phone number, then hit ok, and then go back to his name on your messenger list, and right click on it again, and hit "send text message" or "send sms message", depending on what version of yahoo messenger you have, and you should get a messaging window, send message, click ok or enter, and just wait and see if they send a message back. you can only type so many characters in each message, so kinda make each message short and sweet. hope this helps you out. richard:)
