Does google Voice charge?

Will Google Voice add any charge to my phone bill?

  • I want to start using Google Voice for my regional and long distance (within USA) calls but I want to make sure that I will not be charged ANYTHING on my phone bill. Lets say someone calls me onto my google voice number and it rings my home phone (That is the way it is setup- no option not to link it) Does this involve 3-way calling and would I get an extra charge for this? If not 3-way calling- then any other charges? I have the most basic phone service imaginable.... just to say.

  • Answer:

Google Voice will not add any charges to your phone bill when a call comes in. While it is true that the call comes to your Google voice number, then is sent to your regular phone number, the Google Voice number is a virtual number that just forwards the calls on to the end receiving number. http://www.calling-plans.com/voip/companies/google-voice/google-voice-long-distance/ Also, if you are going to using Google Voice for your outgoing calls, remember that it works like a dial around service, so you're going to have to dial into Google's system, then dial the number you want to call, then the Google system will call you back and place the call after you answer.
