Is a skype phone cheaper than a common landline phone?

Which is the best all-in-one Skype & landline phone?

• I would like to make SkypeOut calls from the phone, and also receive calls from my normal landline through the normal phone socket (obviously not at the same time, but I'd like a phone that allows me to switch between both functions as need arises)

  we have a video phone that can be used as a regular land line. We call the parents to see them daily, but can use the video phone to call cells phone or other land line phones. Is that what you are looking for? The video phone connects to the high speed internet but can be used both ways. You can also leave video messaging.
