How to stop telemarketers' calls with concealed caller ID's?

  • I joined the do-not-call list and I used to be able to report on the donotcall.gov website. But now the ugly marketing companies can hide their caller ID's. When I pick up the phone it's a recorded marketing message. I know there are certain machines that can detect non-human calls, but would the machines screen out those automatic calls from doctor office or library as well?

to block "private" calls you just need to activate ACR by dialing *77 but some restricted numbers such as payphones may still come thru.. all callers who have there number blocked will have to dial *82 to unblock there number before calling you
