Does anyone know which provider gives the best service for a home phone/land-line and at a good price?

• I just bought a house and I am trying to figure out which service is the best for a home phone/land line. Since cell phones are way popular now, I believe that having a house line is getting expensive. Does anyone out there know which provider gives the best service for home phone/landline and at a good price? Verizon? Vonage? Should I get cable, along with high-speed online, and a digital phone? Which kind of service worked best for you???

  the new ATT have a special right now for new customers only for 26 a month, but when I read the fine print, it said, "can change at any time" I had seen it at there new website, with all the features, but I think, I pass....
