Is there any other VOIP service that allows you to use your existing phones in your house like Charter does?
-
I am currently on Charter Digital Telephone (VOIP) and they issued me a Arris Touchstone Modem which allows me to use all of my existing telephone wiring and phones. Problem is though Charters' telephone service stopped working. I am in the 30 day trail period and was thinking of canceling and just opting to use either Vonage, Packet 8, ATT Callvantage, Verizon's VOIP service, or some other VOIP service but I was wondering which one allows you to use your existing house phones without doing any modding to the house phone wiring just simply plugging a telephone wire into any telephone jack like Charters touchstone modem allows you to. Anyone know of a VOIP service that allows you to use your exisiting house telephones?

Answer:
Yes the company I use here in the UK has its own voip service in the USA, which can have normal phones plugged into its own modem, it is due here in Europe this year. If you can email me I will give you the web address for the service. What I can tell you is that this service is a world leader in the technology, and from what my friends over there tell me, it is absolutely excellent.

I suggest you contact Douglas B. I use the same service he has (they are world wide) and I saved 50% off my bills and I have never had better service. I went through many different telephone services. This one the voip is crystal clear! You can do the same thing as how your using it now.

Really, you can do this with any VoIP home phone service. The only trick is to "unplug" your house phone main line from the PSTN "Demarcation" jack. Once unplugged from the outside world, then all phones in the house are interconnected with the existing house phone wiring. Then, just plug output from your VoIP ATA phone adapter to one of the house phone jacks. Now, any other phone jack in the house, with a telephone plugged-in, will be able to pick-up or make calls just like with regular phone service. I use InPhonex and CallCentric VoIP services for my home phone replacement phones (link through my profile). They are low-cost, and more importantly..... only Pay-As-You-Go... No Contracts, no commitments, no fine print catches... month-by-month... period. InPhonex sells the ATA adapters required to interface with their service. Whereas, CallCentric is BYOD (bring your own device), which means you can buy your adapter from where every you want. I purchased my ATA through VoIP Depot in Canada. It is a Linksys PAP2T and has 2-Lines. I have Line-1 subscribed to InPhonex with 1 phone number, and Line-2 subscribed to CallCentric with another phone number. Both services are independent of the other.... two services and 1 VoIP box ATA. If I wanted, I could wire my house the way I suggested for you. But, instead, I don't use my house telephone wiring at all and just have "cordless" phones plugged into the Linksys ATA and have multiple add-on cordless phones around the house.... no wiring to fuss with..... Just 1 cordless phone on the ATA Line-1 and another Cordless Phone on Line-2. I'm contemplating getting a 2-Line Cordless Phone so that both lines of the VoIP ATA plug into the a single 2-Line cordless phone with multiple add-on phones.....

With Vonage you will use the same phone set you have now. and you can keep your number also, and it's really cheap.
