How do you block calls from public services?

I have verizon home phone services and I need to know how to block private and annonymos calls?

  They have an anonymous call blocking service, which we used for a long time. The only problem with it is that sometimes it will block cell phones and international calls. I don't understand what you mean by "private calls". Do you mean all non-business calls? You'll have to ask, but I doubt there is such a service with Verizon. If that's what you need, then your best bet is to hire an answering service so they can screen all your calls. Then get a different number for all your private calls and keep it unpublished, making sure it can't be identified.
