How do I use my computer as an Answering Machine?

Why does my computer get disconnected from my internet when a phone call goes to the answering machine?

• When ever someone calls, I am ever to lazy to answer the phone and let it go to the answering machine, my computer will get disconnected from the wifi, and shortly after will re-connect. This really doesn't bother me, but I do play online games, and when I do and that's when it starts to irritate me....

• Answer:

  There are two possible problems. 1: Your phone/answerer has no filter connecting to the phone line, if you have DSL. The phone signal interferes with the DSL signal, and the filter stops that.. 2: Your phone and WiFi are on the same frequency. When the phone radio is on (as when it rings), it interferes with the WiFi. Change the WiFi channel so it doesn't.
