BT Call Charges - Local call?

How much does it cost to replace a BT junction box and for the call-out charges?

• I have a British Telecom landline which I use for internet and the housephone but the box has come into contact with water due to damp problems in the house and now the internet is slow and isn't always working and the landline phone is very crackly. The soldering has coroded and turned black and mold is growing in the box. The existing box was installed in about 1987 so its older than me lol. How much would it cost for a BT engineer or would it be possible for an electrician to install a new box? thanks

  I worked for the telephone company in the USA and if the rules are the same, the outside protector box is BT's and your only responsible for the inside wire. Call repair service and tell them what you have and BT should fix it for free. That's the way we do it. Good Luck
