Changing reversing light on a focus?

IPhone 4S or Windows Phone Mango in a Samsung Focus S?

  • I am tired of Android lack of responsiveness and lack of consistency. My wife's 3G iPhone is twice as fast and years light smoother. So I was convinced to get now a IP4S until I borrow my friends Samsung Focus S with Windows Mango. In an hour I got in love, it beats iPhone in smoothness and response, and the integration between apps for social, pictures, and business outlook is all innovation, leaving Apple back in the past. My friend says his WP never crashed , that I cannot say from the iPhone, less from the Android pos. Also this Focus S hardware is really beautiful, much lighter and thinner than iPhone with a 4.3 inch screen using oLED tech that looks like digital ink on a real black paper. What I don't understand, is how with this quality, is not Windows Phone much more popular by now, especially when comparing to Android. I know that the number of apps available still is like a quarter or less than the others, but this is changing day by day and all important apps are there. Am I missing something? Any experiences with WP?

  • Answer:

I just bought a Focus S on December 4th and I love it soooooooo much! I used to have an iPhone but I do not regret switching. The reason people don't use it is because its made by Microsoft. As soon as people find out it is Microsoft they hate it. I showed all my friends my phone and they were like "Wow, that is so cool, I am so jealous. I want it" and then they asked what kidn of phone it was and I told them Windows Phone. As so as I saidd that they were like "Oh, Microsoft makes this... this is a peice of crap.". People have a negative perception towards Micrsoft just because Apple started hating on them. Really I have just as many problems with my Windows computer (less actually) then my Apple. Though Apple is better with support (since they make there own hardware, which is also a disadvantage), Microsoft (in my opinion) is better. And most carrier sales reps do not help this. There are multiple stories of people walking into carrier stores asking for a Windows Phone and getting laughed at because they have never used a Windows Phone and they think it is crappy Windows Mobile 6.5 (which is Microsofts former mobile platform that sucked so bad).Have of them don't even know what Windows Phone is or they have never tried it. Its because of the negative perception towards Microsoft. That is only one of the reasons. The seconday reason is that it doesn't have too many apps (although I should mention that it is the fastest growing mobile marketplace pulling in more apps in a year than Android or Apple did). They have the major ones sure like Angry birds and Netflix but they don't have the really particular ones (but for every app I had on the iPhone I have found an alternative that is just as good or better). The reason for less apps is because developers don't want to make apps for a smartphone that almost nobody uses. But the reason nobody uses it is because there is no apps. So its a paradox of sorts. Yet another reason is that Windows Phone uses a single core proccessor instead of the battery sucking dual core or even quad core that other phone use. The more cores you have the faster the device. So on paper when comparing a Windows Phone to an Android the Windows Phone may have a single core proccessor while the Android has a dual core. Now to an average consumer they must be like "Oh this has two cores it must be faster." well they are correct in the sense that the Android with a dual core proccesor would be faster than a single core Android, it may not be faster than the Windows Phone. You see, Microsoft developed Windows Phone to run smoothly on a single core proccessor rather than dual core. So Windows Phones do not need the more expensive, butter suckingdual core to run smoothly they only need the one. The only way for Windows Phone to gain more publicity is through the hands of the consumer. I have been showing off my Focus S too anybody who would listen (and even before that I have been talking about the Windows Phone platform non stop). I even reccomended to one of my teachers a Windows Phone (which she got and loves). Regarding the Samsung Focus S: the phoen is amazing. The screen (which you mentioned) is a Super AMOLED Plus (yes Super and Plus) display which looks amazing. Its the reason I chose the Focus S over the massice HTC Titan (another Windows Phone). Get a Samsung Focus S... I promise you will not regret it. Tell your friends about it, tell everyone you can, in hopes that Windows Phone becomes more popular. I hope this has answered your questions properly. Sorry if I went off on a bit of a rant ehre... thsi subject really irks me.
