Can I use an Australian mobile in Germany?

Can I buy an iPhone in Germany and use it in America? ?

  • I would like to get an iPhone, but T-Mobile does not have it on the American network. So I was wondering could my aunt just buy an iPhone from a T-Mobile store in Germany, and would I then be able to use it in America?

  • Answer:

I would steer you away from the iphones 4s because it has battery drainage problems: http://www.techieinsider.com/news/13863/battery-drain-problems-continue/ Even Steve Wozniak, co-founder of apple says the same thing and that siri is glitchy: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162-57360045/apple-co-founder-gripes-about-iphone/ And this is an Apple Legend saying this so you know it has to be bad. In fact, Siri is so bad there is a class action lawsuit brought against Apple for it not working anywhere near as well as it was advertised. http://news.cnet.com/8301-27076_3-57395727-248/apples-siri-not-as-smart-as-she-looks-lawsuit-charges/ the iphone 4 drops calls and is not recommended by Consumer Reports: http://www.pcworld.com/article/200924/consumer_reports_throws_iphone_4_under_the_bus.html Furthermore, with iphone you do not get Adobe Flash which is required to view videos on many websites, it is a common complaint among iphone users. Plus you cannot expand memory with iphone if you run out of space but with android you just add a card up to 32gb and you're good to go. You get more free apps with android, for example angry birds is free with android whereas you have to buy it with apple, or use their "free" version which has a big ad blocking part of the screen getting in the way of gameplay. Android phones are usually superior in technical specs, faster and more customizable. It is the smarter choice, that is why it leads the global market in smartphones today even with apple selling a lot of their iphones cheap or free. And despite the Woz saying iphones are easier to use, ANYONE can use android, he had to say SOMETHING nice about apple lol.

This is going about this in all the wrong ways. 1. an iPhone from Germany will be much more expensive no matter how you purchase it (with contract/without contract) due to higher taxes etc. 2. Why buy an unlocked phone from Germany when you can do the same thing in the US with lower taxes? If you want to purchase an iPhone to use on the TMobile network. Head over to your local Apple Store and ask to purchase an unlocked iPhone (this can be expensive, but still much cheaper than buying it in Germany). If you were looking at the German price and thinking it's cheaper it's likely special pricing as a part of a 2 year contract. Either way, get yourself to a local Apple Store and explain to them your situation. Best of luck, ZiLong

If you can get your hands on an american SIM card (AT&T or other services) and use it for your iPhone, than normally it should work.
