I'm Getting My First Cell Phone... What One should I Get?

  • what cell phone should i get?...What phone?...What company?...Im getting my first cell...(Im 11 yrs old in november il be 12)...what cell do u have?...i want PAY-AS-YOU-GO so i can actually pay for it...lol...my price limit is $150.00 for the cell phone itself...what phone do you have?...im gettin lots of money for my birthday and chritsmas...(we have it early with my dads side)...and im lookin at um and i cant deside...i want ur advice...what service does it get good or bad...i live in cornish, maine... zipcode 04020...i kinda want to get it at a store like wal*maat...(thats Wal*Mart with a maine accent)...please help me!

    If you live on the east or west coast, go with Cingular (pay as you go phones don't have unlimited free roaming like regular cingular phones do). Cingular has the best coverage on the coasts. Get the $50 Sony Ericsson phone without the camera. What you want is a PHONE. None of the extra doodads that make a cellular phone expensive are worth a damn. The cameras all suck. If you want a phone, an mp3 player or video game, you can get these cheaper and better as seperate devices. Having these on your phone is stupid. Typically, people buy these things in their phones and don't use them. Save that money for something you actually do want. Get the 25 cent a minute plan and only use the phone occassionally. You will have to buy a $25 card for your phone every three months minimum. However, the old minutes don't expire. They rollover when you refill your phone.

ALWAYS get Cingular!! The thing bout the fewest dropped calls is true.I have a SLVR from Motorola but my carrier is Cingular. Get a phone that's a motorola but get Cingular for your carrier. Good Luck!!!!!!

Verizon's...I have had no problems with them at all. I definitely will not go for Cingular...I had nothing but problems...they kept giving me credits and free offers, but nothing was working...their reception baddddddddddd...I had to yell to them on the phone in their store in middle of the city...you can tell how bad it was??? Don't just listen to me, check it out consumer's reports online...

why don't U start with Virgin Mobil...U pay the phone yourself...so its yours...then just choose a plan the have 3, and buy minutes...U can change your plan anytime, and the ppl there are all young and very friendly...don't get stuck with something stupid...U want choices and freedom...and the VM phones are really cool... http://www.virginmobileusa.com/ here is a link..good luck to you!

tmobile is pretty good...try a samsung phone...most arent expensive and speakers are loud and clear...graphics are pretty good too...so its affordable...plus with prepaid from tmobile...u get extra free minutes if u get the 1000 minutes for $100...

Choose a phone with a camera, a color phone and a color that u like...there are plenty of phones and u will have to choose which one suits u....JUST PLEASE stay away from "SPRINT, NEXTEL, BOOSTMOBILE, TMOBILE" i dont really know much about Cingular, but i know that Verizon has the best service, but the minute phones are kinda boring in the fun department.lol....i had the Verizon LG chocolate, it was fun at first but then it was to hard to deal with.....Oh yea, if u get a PAY-AS-YOU-GO aka a minute phone, there are certain phones that u have to get and they are pretty crappy but there are a few nice ones, u cant choose just any phone it HAS TO BE a minute phone so dont expect to get one of the new nicer phone u see on tv those are contracts..exceot for boost but those phones suck...i hope u find ure dream phone..happy bday and good luck
