How long would 500MB of internet last on a mobile phone?

Mobile Internet 500MB?

• Hi, I upgraded my contract from Three. I get 500MB of data usage on internet monthly. The question is... I don't use the phone that they provide... I use iPhone 3G and here is the question what do I do to activate internet.... Do I activate cellular data or something like that? I only have 500MB so will it be enough for a month if I use internet for browsing like 10 mins aday etc? Let me know I will give 5 stars for good answer thanks.

  Hi Daniel, as long as you have a data plan on your mobile line, you will get internet access irregardless of the phone you use. Most phones will require GPRS settings configured but I believe that for the iphone, you only need to connect to itunes for it to retrieve the required settings. Once that is done, you are good. As for the question on your 500 mb bundled data, it really depends on your usage. If you are someone who receives a lot of email and surfs the web constantly then I would suggest you get a higher plan but 500 mb is generally enough for average users. What you could do is use data counters on the phone. This will help you to track how much data have you used so far. Once you have got an idea of the data consumption your usage pattern requires, you can evaluate from there and choose to upgrade the plan if necessary
