Unable to install apps on Samsung Galaxy 3?

• I have recently bought a samsung galaxy 3 and I'm unable to install apps via downloaded software on my pc. I used the kies pc suite for samsung and the error I get is the file is not recognized. The file extensions are .apk which should ideally work. Im easily able to download and install from android market through my phone but unable to do it through my pc. Lastly would like to know whether this phone supports themes.

  U haven't mentioned, which app u r willing to install through Kies. However, there are 3 possible reasons - 1. If u r truing to download the app through "Samsung Apps", let me make it clear to u; Samsung provides only a few of Samsung Apps for their Non-BADA operated phones, for example, it provides "Asphalt 5" game for Samsung Galaxy S. u can find the list of possible Samsung Apps downloads by clicking on the icon for Samsung Apps on ur phone. 2. Second and more possible reason, u might have unchecked the "UNKNOWN SOURCES" option on ur phone. This option helps u prevent non-market downloads. To reactivate it follow the procedure- On ur home screen, tap on the "Applications" icon --> then go to "Settings" --> go to "Application" settings ---> Check the option "Unknown Sources" This will show a notification window saying "Attention your phone and personal data are...." tap on "Yes", and u will be able to download a non-market app. Hope, one of the above points may resolve ur problem.
