How do I update my blackberry without a desktop?

Blackberry desktop manager (mac) won't find update for curve 8330?

I have a blackberry curve 8330 with old software and I really want to update it but I can't figure out how to do it on the mac. every time I ask it to look for an upgrade it says no upgrade available. I'd really like to get the software updated. I also can't get the facebook app to install either.. if anyone could help me out with either of those issues it would be greatly appreciated!

The most recent OS available for the 8330 is v4.5. To check your version: Options icon - About If you are running a version prior to 4.5 you can update from your phone. Options icon - Advanced Options - Wireless Update - Check for Updates Use App World to install the FB app or get it sent to your phone from here: http://us.blackberry.com/smartphones/features/social/facebook_download.jsp
