Why can't i get my HTC ChaCha to connect to other devices via Bluetooth?
-
i have a HTC ChaCha and apart from one little thing i love it. the one thing about this phone that annoys me is that i have awful trouble connecting it to other devices via Bluetooth, be it other Phones or PC's. i have managed to pair it to my husband's PC and my daughter's phone (after a struggle) but no way will it actually connect to them to send something! i never had this problem before when i had other phones like the Nokia E63 or the Blackberry, or any other types ( i can't remember what makes they were) so i don't think it's me being stupid (at least i hope it's not...). can you tell me if this phone is prone to Bluetooth connection problems or if there is some special "knack" to getting it to actually connect to other phones and PC's so i can transfer photos and videos? thanks for any helpful replies.

Answer:
One of two reasons First reason the object you are trying to send is an App or second the object is copyrighted ie protected so cannot be sent by bluetooth So you will find that you can send a "phone contact" as these which is not Bluetooth settings The phone will have a name normally the make & model your is say "HTC Cha Cha 001" ie your phone name if you change it from say the phones make & model to "Hexe" and you are NOT hidden people who search for you will find "Hexe". Pairing is unique so if there are 2 say E63's in the household and you pair with one, you will still pair with or connect to the same even if they still have default make & model bluetooth name, as phones do have unique bluetooth ids also. If it is not the the above sending app /protected file make sure both devices are VISIBLE shown to all (NOT HIDDEN ) if the phone "receiving phone" is HIDDEN, it can't be paired or receive files another bluetooth it can ONLY send to a non hidden device. Searching for a bluetooth device is a way to find out if a device is hidden or visible to all. If both bluetooth are on and with 10 metre line of sight also the they should show up on each others phone if not, it is "hidden". Bluetooth generally I have found is pretty reliable.
