How do I make ringtones and convert them to m4r for my iphone?

IPhone songs to ringtones problem..?

  • Followed online instructions to convert song to ringtone for my iPhone. Converted song to ACC, 30 sec long, renamed to m4r. Copied to iPhone 'Tones' list. Ringtone is there, but in grey with small circle with arrows icon next to it. Its in 'songs' on iPhone, but not on 'Ringtones' list. Device was synced with iTunes. Can't get the ringtone to work. Any ideas?

  • Answer:

If your iPhone is jail-broken you can follow Method 1 or else follow Method 2. METHOD 1 : You can simply copy the converter .M4r tone to the following location using iFile: private/var/stash/ringtones Once done you should be able to see the ringtone in your sounds. METHOD 2 : Alternately, you follow this method. I think you have disabled syncing ring tones. So all you have to do is connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes. Once done, click on the your iPhone that appears on the left side of the iTunes screen. Now go to ring tones tab and select the option sync. Now, iTunes will automatically copy your ring tones into your iPhone every time you sync your device.
