Why is my iphone 3 not turning on?

My iPhone 3g is not turning on. For the last couple of days it would randomly shut off out of the blue but i wouldn't be able to turn it on unless it is plugged into a wall charger. Now it won't even turn on on the charger and my computer is not recognizing it. Also when i try to hard reboot, the apple logo comes on, then it says to connect to itunes, but when i try to unplug it from the wall and plug it into my computer it just goes black. Please help, thanks

This could be the device problem... I would recommend you to report that problem to the device/mechanical service since they are more happy to help you... Good luck!
