I would suggest downloading Rockplayer or Moboplayer Moboplayer: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.clov4r.android.nil&feature=search_result Rockplayer lite: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.redirectin.rockplayer.android.unified.lite&feature=search_result They both allow streaming (playing online video like wmv ) and both are free. The problem is that the X8 only has a 600 mhz processor (that's like a speed limit on the motorway) and 168mb of ram (that's like the lanes on a motorway) both are low, which is ok for day to day stuff but not great for media i.e video. Best way to run a video file..... If your trying to play video files such as .avi, .wmv, .mkv etc you may need to convert them in to a smaller resolution. The X8 has a 480x320 pixels screen (in landscape). this will mean you will need a PC and a video converter program (if you don't have one try DVDFAB has a free converter). Find it at: http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm You will need to convert your files to a resolution lower than 480x320. now MP4 is the most supported phone video format, but most downloaded files are in .avi or .mkv (both rockplayer and Moboplayer support these formats). These formats keep the file size small and are more widely used which mean it keep conversion time down. The reason your converting the file is. If the resolution is higher than the phones screen size, the phone has to use the processor and the memory to down size the the image. which causes the lag. Once you have converted the file mount your X8 to the PC like this.... Connect to PC with USB > Slide down the notification bar (slide finger from top of screen to the bottom) > Tap mount USB. then on your computer.... Click start> My Computer> Phone card> And copy converted file to the phones SD card. Then unmount phone: Slide down notification bar (slide finger from top of screen to the bottom) > Tap unmount USB. When you open Moboplayer or Rockplayer they will automatically find the video file and allow you to play them. I would also suggest running a update on your handset. You maybe running android 1.6 this is old software and you will be better off updating your handset to 2.1 (its free and will make your phone faster (also improving battery life, better Bluetoothing and also gives you live wallpapers). Find it here: www.sonyerricsson.com/cws/support/phones… the click on update phone. and lastly as the x8 is a smart phone I would suggest turn the phone off and on before doing anything labour intensive i.e watching films on your phone. This is because the phone keeps programs (apps) open ready for you to come back to them. This can take up memory on your handset and slow down the phone. I work in the mobile phone industry and get asked these sort of questions all the time. Hope it helps
