How long should I charge my new phone before I use it?

I got a new battery for my phone. Do I use it until it says low batt or should i charge it? How long?

    a common mistake is people throw it on the charger right away.you should use it until it is out of charge,then charge it.It takes a long time the first time,like 12-14 hrs.I just did mine and it said 14 hrs,so it's a good idea to have another phone to use in the meantime.after the initial charge you can charge it 2-3 times a week.It's actually good to keep it off the charger 75-80% of the time.I don't like leaving it laying around so i just turn it backwards on the stand.This keeps it from overcharging,but always where I can find it.

Use it first until it says low battery,then charge it for a minumum of 6-7 hours, then you can use it longer..

It's very good for the battery to use it until it is COMPLETELY dead. Then charge it. Repeat for the first four times...more is okay too. It always kept my battery for my phone in good shape and it holds charges very long still at five years old. (I know that's not that old, but I don't have good luck with batteries...lol)

Read quick-guide start on your manual. If you don't have one, you should charge the battery until it is full the first time you use it. It's good for your battery's first time to be born!!!!!!!!!!

to help ensure long life for batteries be it old or new, it's best to charge it when it's totally drained or battery is empty. new batteries are partly charge for you to try if it's working well. so you can use it until it'll be empty and then you can charge it.

You may use it right away. Old battery technology required that you use the battery until depletion. However batteries have come a long way and it is now appropriate to charge a battery whenever you desire. Most phones are automatically able to tell when the charge is complete. When it is, they can cease charging with no intervention.

On most phones you are suppose to use it until it goes dead then charge it til it is full. It will make the life of the battery last much longer if you do it this way.
