IPhone 4(S) And Galaxy Nexus Users Help Me Choose Please?

• I want to buy a new phone and I'm stuck between Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S. I've owned a Galaxy Ace before and I've had experiences with Xperia and Galaxy S line too, overall I'm pretty familiar with Android. I also had a brief experience with iPhone 4 (my friend lent me his for a night). Now I have some questions for my iPhone user friends I'd really appreciate it if you help me: 1. Is iPhone 4S customize-able? Like changing the overall looks, including menus, launchers, widgets, icons, themes, live wallpapers. I've seen screenshots and videos, they look great. What I really want is a homescreen where you can only see the wallpaper and maybe the 4 icons on the bottom and the status bar on top (similar to Android) I don't wanna see Springpad with icons every time I unlock my device. If there's a way for these customization please explain what. Should I jailbreak it? Is there a disadvantage to this? Like battery life or OS instability? 2.Are there enough free apps on app store? I've heard the quantity of free apps on app store is alot less compared to Google Play (former Market). Also if anyone had enough experiences with both Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S I'd be glad to hear their opinion. Thanks!

  Not an iPhone users, but I can answer both. 1. The only things you can customize is the ringtone, wallpaper and the app icon placement. With the others like Live Wallpapers, Widgets, Icons, Themes and etc. this can't be done unless you jailbreak it. There are advantages and disadvantages. The advantage of course is that it can become just as customizable as an Android phone but the disadvantages can outweigh the advantages. The problem is, if you don't jailbreak it correctly, the phone can become problematic. Also, the phone can slow down and become vulnerable to viruses to a higher extent than Android can. Plus, jailbreaking voids warranty. So if you ever break your iPhone somehow (eg: drop on the floor which breaks the glass immediately), then you're screwed. Some of these jailbroken apps like the ability to customize stuff can decrease battery life a lot. 2. There are quite a fair bit of free apps. But, as you said, not as much as Google Play. Most of the free apps (mainly games) are more of a light version of the full app. For instance, the full version of Angry Birds is free on Android. While you can get Angry Birds free on iPhone, you're only getting the lite version of the app which has only a few levels. Android is the king of free apps (by quantity I mean). The Galaxy Nexus is a much better phone to use. But when it comes to the camera and app quality and how well games run, iPhone 4S is better. But the Galaxy Nexus is better at everything else since it's super customizable as you said and a lot of apps are free and there are more features built into the phone. I've used both and what I find better on iPhone 4S is how fluid the UI is and of course, it has Temple Run while Android phones are still waiting for it...
