What was date of Navratri in 1969?

I sent a text and the date said December 31, 1969 at 5:00 PM. WHY!?

• So I sent a text and when I looked back the date said December 31, 1969 5:00PM, even tho all my other texts had been giving the normal date. Everythings been normal since I sent that text, the date hasnt been weird for any others. Is there some significance to that date? or is it like the farthest back a phone can go so my phone tried to reset itself or something?! it's freaking me out! any explanation???

  I wouldn't worry about it. It's mostly likely a glitch in the phone network, not your phone. Either way it's clearly a transient bug. But if you are worried about it you could try a full power off and on of your phone. Yes, it actually is a "base date" - it's *zero* in the internal timekeeping scheme! In Unix and many Unix-derived systems, they count time as the number of seconds from 00:00 on Jan 1 1970 UTC. Since Unix was developed in the 70s, they would never need a date earlier than that, and they rounded down to the beginning of the decade. So "zero" means that date and time, UTC, and all later dates and times are represented by a positive number, the number of seconds from that base date to the date/time in question. Now if you're in the US pacific time zone, then since we are in daylight saving time now, we are 7 hours behind UTC. 7 hours earlier than 00:00 Jan 1 1970 UTC gets you to exactly the time and date that's on your message. So your message somehow got a timestamp (in this internal format) of zero.
