Will my charger work in India?

What Kind of Cell phones bought in India Can work in USA with Cingular Sim Card.?

• I have a Cingular pay as you go sim card in USA. I had originally bought a cheap low level cell phone from Cingular. I am on vacation in India now and I plan to buy a better and latest phone from Mumbai. Will my sim card work with it? I can buy a US Charger later , but my main concern is that , do you require triband phone or something like that to use in the US. Please Answer fast , before my vacations are over. :)

  The 3 things you need to make sure of 1) Phone is GSM technology 2) Purchase a quadband GSM850/900/1800/1900 Cingular works on GSM850 and 1900. most overseas tri band phones are GSM900/1800/1900 so if you used that with Cingular, you would have dead areas since Cingulars main network is GSM850 3) Phone MUST be unlocked Follow those rules and you are good to go Cheers
