Why is my NEW palm centro charging so slow?

Palm Centro charging.?

• I have the Palm Centro from AT&T. I've had it for 1 1/2 months now. When I charged it with the AC charger, the battery lasted for like 5 days. But now when I plug it into the AC charger it keeps charging and uncharging simultaneously. So therefore I basically get no charge. And when I charge it with the USB cable it charges, but it only lasts for a day. I do not text message, use the internet, or even call people often.

  I have the sd card and have songs on it and it is just as bad. Do you have the timer on like 5 seconds for it to shut off after the useage. I hate to keep pushing the middle button every time so I increased the time and it was worse, currently my phone shut down in 5 seconds and it seems to work, or last longer. I know it is frustrating, but try this and see how long the battery life is.
