"Refurbished," in reference to computers or laptops, means that the equipment was returned to the manufacturer either because the customer simply didn't want it or a minor problem was found. Before re-selling the equipment, manufacturers fix and certify the unit and sell it at a discount. So you won't be able to say your phone is new, and it could have some minor problems.

A refurb phone is one that was once broken but fixed. If price is no matter go for the new one though. you are gambaling with the refurbished one

Refurbished could have been returned to the store for a variety of reasons. They recondition the phone, make sure it's functional, and then sell it again at a discounted rate.

there arn't many really. The refurbs are completly redone and they are just like new.

It might have some small scratches on it but what the heck if it is a better price and they will stand behind it, and it has been fixed at the factory, go for it. Money is tight.
