What is a good qwerty keyboard phone?

What is the best text messaging (qwerty keyboard) phone?

  • I currently have an iPhone, but I find myself text messaging for than talking. And in my opinion, texting with a virtual qwerty keyboard is not that great. I find it kind of annoying. Once my contract ends with AT&T, I am going to get a new phone. In addition, I already have a 32gb iPod Touch (the new one) so having 2 devices in my pocket with the same software seems quite odd. So my question is, what type of messaging phone should I get? It has to have a qwerty keyboard. It can be from any service and the price does not really matter. Full HTML browser would be a big plus for me. If not, then the iPod Touch can take care of that. =) I've looked up a few phones and I seem to like the: - Blackberry Curve: but where I live, everyone has one and I kind of want to be different. I'll admit, it is a nice phone. The new Curve 8350 is supposed to come out pretty soon as well. I do not like how the 8350 is more of a push-to-talk phone. - Blackberry Bold: very nice screen and simple ui, but it seems too big. - Samsung Rant: excellent text messaging phone, but it feels like too much of a downgrade from my iPhone. - Sidekick LX: another excellent messaging phone, but it lacks wi-fi, gps, and its big. I'm not a big fan of the 2008 Sidekick by the way. Plus, it's kind of hard to hide text messaging during school. hehe. Not that I do it. xD - Helio Ocean: i like the dual-slider, but it is an old phone. I also heard the Ocean 2 is supposed to have a touch-screen. I don't really like the Glyde because it's more of a "chick phone," plus the touch screen isn't very responsive. The EnV2 and Voyager are definitely out of my list because I hate having the "space" key on the right side. It just feels unnatural to me. Please help. Thank you.

I would suggest the blackberry curve, but I understand you want a different phone so, why not get the T-mobile G1? Its a legit phone, full qwerty keyboard you can slide out. Or I recommend HTC touch phones like the HTC Touch Pro or HTC touch diamond, also very nice phones :)

i personally recommend, if you a rugged phone, with all the technology, you have to get a sony ericsson P910i.. i have been using it for 5 years.. and it is the best qwerty enabled, plus PDA phone available... Been reviewing cell phones for 8 years now..

I have AT&T also and I have the LG Trax. Its a flip phone but I actually find myself texting also. My plan goes out in a week so Im trying to find a phone for texting. Here's some of my favorites: (P.S.-I might be a girl and the might pick out girly phones but they actually work and you can just get a black one. Easy cover-up!) Pantech Matrix(My mom has this phone and I usually jack her phone and put my SIMS card in it and text at high school. Its a great phone!) http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=Pantech+Matrix+-+Navy+Blue&q_sku=sku3020343 Samsung A767 Propel- http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=Samsung+A767+Propel+-+Green&q_sku=sku3030227 Pantech Duo(Definatley getting this phone! Im getting it in Burgandy, though.) http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=Pantech+Duo&q_sku=sku1080007

I would have to say a Blackberry if you are really into like the business world for emailing etc. The Helio Ocean is a good phone, so what if it's old, as long as you like it! The Sidekick isn't the best. Mine just broke from flipping it up too much. What about something like the Palm Duo? It's AT&T and its a Refurb phone, or a recycled phone, AND you save $380!!! If not go with the Rumor! It's Sprint and it is really nice. Vibrant colors too like LIME GREEN!, white, black&blue. .. or any other colors you can find!
