Is there any way to increase my cell phone signal?

Bit of a 'provider dilemma'! Two different providers (vodafone and meteor) both with the same offer (free cals and texts to anyone on the same network). The conundrum is, most of my friends are meteor, so it makes sense for me to be with them, but they have awful signal where I live, but still fine for texting (not so much with the calls) so i was wondering, if I went with meteor, is there anything I can do on my side with the phone or anything to try and increase the signal? (other then asking the service provider to provide better service to my area obviously!ah) thanks!

Not trying to be a smartazz but stand on the roof of your house and wave your phone until you get the best reception!!! Go into you phone and you can switch back and forth between the two providers to get the best reception, Peace, Love & Happiness
