How does a cell phone keyboard work?

How can I convince my mom to buy me a new cell phone with a different service?

  • Right now, I have a prepaid phone. I don't like it because of multiple reasons: 1. Everyone else that I know has an "actual" cell phone and brand name service. I am embarrassed to carry my phone with me because everyone else's is better than mine. 2. They all have unlimited texting and calling. 3. There's is up-to-date that has a keyboard or touch screen. 4. I can only use so many minutes(but I save them) and it takes forever to text because I don't have a keyboard. 5. We pay a little more than $100 per year. We are not tight on money so we can afford a cell phone with a contract. My mom doesn't want to pay hundreds of dollars each year for my phone. She tells me I don't need unlimited calling and texting. Since it is closer to the holidays, I have been talking to her about a new phone, but she keeps telling me "no". She is being totally unfair and I'm stuck with an old phone because she uses her work phone as her personal phone too. What should I do? I really want one by the time we go back to school next year. I'm afraid of being made fun of at school by the "popular" people.

    demand for only things what you need and what you want, if above things are what you want and not need than u should forget about it ur mom is not gonna give you but if thats real requirement than tell your mom she will understand! never posh your parent for costly things as they have constraints too!! hope you understand dear!! as far as popular people are concerned, they are ashamed of themselves so to hide it they make fun of others, if you fight it once they will never dare to do in again Best of Luck!!

its just a phone and it can text and phone people yeaa :) so you dnt really need anything else as long as it works :) & it doesnt matter what the "popular" people think, it has nothing to do with them :) or you could save up and ask your mum to pay half and you do the other ? xx

I can relate... but here's the thing: in this time of recession, and in the halls of school, cell phones can be a distraction and an overpriced luxury for the socially greedy/manipulative "popular" crowd of jerks.

i'm in a worse state than you...mine is a sony ericsson T100...ever heard of it???i thought not...and mine's a prepaid too and my father only tops it up with $15 every 3 months and he doesnt top it up during the holidays...and it is currently the holidays and i am only left with 80cents...you are still better than me...have hope...when you start earning money then you can get whatever you want...even a sony ericsson w980i...you didnt say that your frens made fun of you...but mine did...they said, "wow...so cool...phone without any colour..." and i was freaking pissed...

Right now there is really nothing you can do...i bet her work pays for that phone and contract she has. But you dont have a contract. There are some cool prepaid phones. But let me tell you something some popular people at my school have a crappy phone to..heck some of them dont even have phones and we are in highschool! If they make fun of you for the kind of phone you have thats just stupid. I am lucky to have my parents get me a nice phone and im greatful for it but if i had to deal with a prepaid phone i would thats just the way it goes...my first phone was bad too. Just be happy that you have a CELL PHONE

dont complain about simple things like that, i dont even have a phone...and i dont get one until i graduate high school! yah it sucks, but that doesnt stop me from making friends. get over it!
