Whats the difference between EDGE/GPRS and 3G?

Answer:
EDGE/GPRS are both 2G technologies and 3G is based on UMTS/CDMA which means faster data transfers. EDGE is really considered 3G by definition but 3G is still faster. It uses multiple slots to send info so it is faster than GPRS but still slower than 3G. You can think of how it works as essentially a download accelerator.
