How do phone upgrades work for AT&T?

How do Cell phone ugrades work..?

• So i broke my last phone and my next cell phone upgrades in may so i was wondering how they work, do you get the phone free if you sign nother three year contract.. or do you pay for the phone but its just cheaper and keep the contract you havve

  if your contract expires in May, I'd wait until then to go into the store, tell them you broke your phone but you know your contract is now up; they'll verify your info, then ask if you want to sign another 2-year contract. If you do, they'll give you a phone to go with it. it all just depends on whether you want the latest and greatest (for more money) or not so (for less money, or free) They'll tell you how much; or you can ask what phones are free.
