What is the best cell phone plan in Canada?

I lost my cell phone and have a Rogers AT&T plan (Canada). Do I have to buy a new phone from Rogers?

  • Can I use my old Nokia 8260 (from U.S.)? I have had this cell phone for years and I really like it. I have tried unlocking it but cannot generate an IMEI (using *#06#). Do I have to buy a new phone?

    If you are on Rogers GSM, the 8260 won't work because that is not a GSM phone. Plus Rogers is phasing out their TDMA so they won't want to activate that 8260 for you since it is not compatible with their newer GSM network. I would suggest you bite the bullet and get a new phone.

You can probably try to see If you can use your old one but since you're on a plan they can track the phone but you shoul talk to them and see what they can do for you.
