Do cell phones from Japan and/or Korea work in the US?
-
A Cingular guy told me that I can purchase an unlocked GSM phone in asia and use it in the US with a US Cingular SIM card. Can anyone validate this? The US phone designs suck. They're just ugly. I probably won't use/need all of the capabilities of the phone. I'm looking at phones more for aesthetics (at least for now).

As long as your phone is capable of operating on the GSM 1900mhz and/or GSM 850/800mhz frequencies it can.
