TDMA (Old ATT, Old Cingular, Sprint, is now obsoleete) GSM (New Tech, New Cingular, T-Mobile, Nextel) Now, cdma is widest spread because has been arround the longest, gsm is the best technology, is growing every day. Now just decide which one you like or have avail. in your area, take a look and plans and features. make a desision. Cingular has the larges network in the US and largest customer base and now has Push to talk that works better then Nextel. It works much like Yahoo IM only with voice. Also with the largest people, the most mobile 2 moble usage availale at no cost to you. That is what i have and i Love it!! No problems at all!!! One more thing, if you travel internationaly, you want a GSM phone, GSM is the World Standard!!!

Sprint is the best. Cingular and AT&T are together and the reception sucks. And Verision never actually fixes problems with your phone . Nextel is now with Sprint so also a good choice. And I have never tryed the rest. To the person talking about cingular mobile 2 mobile every company has that.

My personal favorite is Verizon Wireless. I have used my Verizon phone in subway tunnels and in places that most services do not have services. The service is very reliable and customer service acts like they care about your problem.
