Does any one know how prepaid cell phones work?

You Pay As You Go. Its Kinda Like You Pay 100 Bucks And They Give You 50 Minutes, And 50 Texts. Then Once You Use All That Up, You Go Back To The Store And Pay For More. No Contracts, No Agreements. Just....Money to texts/minutes

you can still text on a pre paid. the best deal is virgin mobile i have been a custimer for years

yes you can. You loose so many minutes per call and text. You go to a store and get a card with info in it, and then you have to call the code into your phone.

You can still text people but it's going to be pricey if you text a lot. I used to have a prepaid and it didn't work so well for me because I texted soo much. I paid like 100$ a month for it (Two $50 prepaid cards a month.) If you think you're going to text a lot I recommend you get a plan. I have a plan now and it's A LOT cheaper, I pay $60 dollars a month for unlimited texting AND 200 minutes, so it's heaps better. Or if you don't want a plan be willing to pay a lot for a prepaid.

you put a ammont of money on it and you can use it for anything like calls, text and buying wallpaper/ringtones and what ever else. but it is more expancive than normal phones you shouldnt get one!

Yes you can. It cost $.15 if you don't have a plan on the phone. You can purchase text plans for 4.99 for 200 text or 19.99 for unlimited a month.

Whether or not you can text depends on the phone company. You may want to research whether the company allows that or not. I have a prepaid phone from T Mobile, and I can text with it.

depends on which phone you get and who is the provider. Most cell phones today including prepaid offer texting, but at an extra charge. I believe one of the best deals is boost mobile. but i would look around to all the major carriers and see what there plans are on prepaid phones.
