Does a Flip Ultra Camcorder have good recording quality?

How can you compare video recording quality between a cell phone and a camcorder?

  • The specs for cell phones that shoot video often sight X Megapixels, A screen resolution (e.g. 640x480), and frames per second. Where as a camcorder's specs sight things like Lines of Resolution AND never mention Megapixels. How can I tell which has high quality?

  • Answer:

    Because camcorders are usually standard....capable of 30 ro 60 frames per second (I think new ones can do 120 fps). Also megapixels are for stills. Camcorder video quality is light years ahead of camera phone quality. What you have to look for is the amount (1 or 3, 3 being better) of CCDs in the camcorder and the CCD sizes. Usually the best are Sony, Samsung, Cannon, JVC and Panasonic but there a quite a few out there that are good. The better the lense the better the quality as well.

That is a good question. Maybe you could try some out in a phone store and e-mail sample video to yourself. Go home and compare them.

Um, I have absolutely no clue!!! But, I like the idea of shooting sample videos and sending them to yourself to see which looks better.. remember to try all different kinds of lighting and motion to see which can do the job you want. *fanning myself from all the megapixel and resolution talk* tell me more... haha ;~)
