What is the dialing format for making a phone call to canada from the USA i.e country codes, area code etc?

  • Answer:

As far as I know, you just dial 1 - area code - phone number. That's what I always do when I call from the US to Canada.

Calls to Canada follow the same dialing rules as the US. No international code needed

A call to Newfoundland & Labrador CANADA is made in exactly the same way as a call is made in the USA. You start with a '1' + their area code (709) then the seven digit number.
