How do you get the songs from your iPod onto the iTunes library?

How do I get songs from my iPod into my iTunes Library?

  • I downloaded different songs from my friends' computers and they went onto my ipod easily-- I just drag and drop. The problem is that I want to get a new iPod, and so I want those new songs in my library to be available to re-download later. So, how do I do this? I even thought of making a playlist of the songs, and then burning them to a disc to add later, but that won't work either. Help! Thanks in advance!

Plug the Ipod in with the songs. Right click on the Ipod on the left side panel. It should come up with ''Transfer Purchases''. Click that and all the stuff from that Ipod should come up.

Hello, as long as your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them onto your computer and iTunes easily. The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows: Firstly install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. See detailed guide. More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved. Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process: http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transfer-songs-and-videos-from-ipod-to-computer.htm Best luck! With the new iPod an iTunes installation disc will come with it, what you have to do is NOT USE that disc and DO NOT install the iTunes onto the pc otherwise you are....screwed. Just keep the old iTunes you have at the moment and plug your new iPod into the pc, then a new section will come up with no songs in, just sync the songs from your library that you want on your new iPod onto the playlist and it should all work fine. Happy Listening ! =D

Connect your iPod to your computer. If the songs that you want to put on your iTunes library have been purchased from the iTunes store, right-click on the iPod icon and click on the option "Transfer Purchases." All of your purchased items on your iPod will be transfered. If you don't want a certain item, wait until it is completely transferred and then delete it.
