Jailbreak ipod and void warranty?

If you jailbreak your iPod, then reverse it, does it still void the warranty?

  • I'm considering Jailbreaking, but if I decide to reverse it to normal, do I get my warranty back?

  • Answer:

unfortunately yes, if you planned on getting it fixed from the apple store, they run a crapload of tests that will probably and most definitely detect that you have jailbroken your ipod. so basically, you will not have you're warranty if you jailbreak it.

The only way your warranty is gone is if you bring your iPod to the Apple Store jailbroken. So, you can jailbreak it. But if it has a problem just restore it and Apple won't know. :) Just to make sure Apple never sees the jailbreak when it has a problem, clear/restore your iPod three times to make it a total complete wipeoff. :)

Yeah, it will. The only sure-fire way to keep the warranty is if you DON'T jailbreak it. Even if you reverse it, the Apple people could still probably be able to tell that you did jailbreak it.
