How can I hook my iPod up to my car stereo?

What cheap device can I get to hook up my ipod to my cd/stereo in my car?

  • I don't have a tape deck where I can insert a hooked up format.

  • Answer:

Your cheapest option would be to buy a FM transmitter. Belkin makes one that you can get at most retailers (Walmart, Best Buy, ect.) for $29.99. For around $60 you can get into one that will also charge it. An interface that would hook into the sterio would run at least $150 and you would probably have to have it installed.

you can get a 3 in 1 off ebay. it's a holder, charger and fm transmitter all in 1. it plugs in to your cig lighter, won't giggle or drop your ipod. they run about $20 or less on ebay. just don't buy one from a seller with a stupid high shipping charge, they don't weigh much.

I found the "smoke pack" at circuit city. It cost me 30 bucks, but came with a wall charger, adapter/tape that plays through your car radio, an adapter to plug into your TV, or stereo, an extra pair of ear buds, an adapter that will allow two people to hook up to your ipod and listen, and a cheap protective case. All that for 30 bucks wasn't bad-- I have been using these items for the past year and a half- still workin great.
