Are SD/MMC cards the same as regular SD cards?

This question is about 1 GB SD Cards and the Disney Mix Stick MP3/WMA Player. What will become of the latter?

I know now that the 1 GB SD cards (from any brand) have now been discontinued. I own a Disney Mix Stick MP3/WMA Player, and it supports SD cards no greater than 1 GB. If the 1 GB SD cards have been discontinued, what will become of the Disney Mix Stick? Will it get an updated version that will support SD cards no greater than 4 GB?
