How much does it cost to get the back of the iPod Touch replaced?

How much does it cost to get my iPod touch screen replaced?

  • I've looking around the Internet and I cant get a straight answer at all. I can't remember what gen it is, definitely one of the older ones (if someone could tell me how to tell) and the warrenty has expired now, so how much does it cost to get the screen replaced, there's a piece that cracked and dropped off the top. And where else apart from a ln apple store can do this? I don't have one near me Cheers! (uk only)

  • Answer:

You should be able to do it yourself. I did for my second gen for about $35 or so. There are many video's on YouTube showing you how. I did a search for an iPod touch 2nd gen and found that there are places in the UK for under £15 but you want the one with the home button in that case. Those videos often tell you stuff like this. And once you do fix it and get it working again, do not wipe the smile off your face and get an Otter case for it. They make it tougher. I have dropped it on concrete from 4' on purpose and it doesn't hurt it. oh, the place I found http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/store.php?cat_id=529 You may want the tools to as iPod use TINY screws and sometimes funky ones. And the cases http://www.otterbox.com/

If its got a camera, it's 4th generation, which costs £120. But I dunno if there is a difference with different generations.
