Jailbreaking ipod touch?

Ipod touch. 2g, jailbreaking (tethered, and untethered)?

• sooo i don't currently own a ipod touch, but ive been doing a LOT of research, because im getting one soon. and everyones saying that when you jailbreak your ipod touch that its 100x better. basically i have a few questions about cydia, tethered jailbreaking and untethered jailbreaking. 1. untethered is a lot better, riiight? because you dont always have to hook it up to the computer? whats the downsides of tethered, and untethered jailbreaking? 2. basically after jailbreaking your ipod; if it breaks, you cant bring it to apple, because they might see that you jailbroke it? well if it does break, cant you just run over it with a car, 'til its completely crushed, and then bring it in? so they cant see the apps or anything..? 3. after you jailbreak it, can you still go to the free apps in itunes, and put them on your ipod.. orrr...? (dumb question, but i wanna know) 4. how does cydia work..? what is it exactly? i reallyy need some answers, because even after hours of research, i couldnt really find exactly what i was looking for.   1. Yes, untethered is better. 2. You can't return a jailbroken iPod Touch. What you can do, is hook it up to your computer and if you still can get the firmware (unjailbroken) and do a restore. 3. You can still use the free apps on iTunes. 4. Cydia is an app where you can get other apps, themes, etc. for free. You add sources and it gets the apps from the website. To get the apps out of the app store you need to install Installous.
