How do I put the music thats on my ipod into my itunes library?

i've read a lot of previously answered questions about how to do this and lots of them say that i have to go to 'my computer', click on my ipod and then click on options. but when i click on my ipod, options doesnt appear! whats happening? how can i do this? i've also heard of some stuff i can download from the internet, but i don't want to download anything cause last time i did this the computer got a virus and we had to wipe the computer, which is why my library is gone.
