How do I fix the wifi on my iTouch?

My itouch's wifi doesnt work....as i nthe button is grayed out adn wont do anything...how can i fix this?

i already tried restoring it and stuff....it started messing up after i went into an app for it

let the battery run down then load into itunes update the software and see if that works
